Thanksgiving Dessert ~ Recipe for the day ~ Peach Crisp


 

Peach Crisp

Ingredients:
1 quart peaches, drained
Splash almond extract
2 Tbsp tapioca
½ cup sugar, divided
¼ cup butter
½ cup oatmeal
Dash cinnamon
¼ cup sliced almonds (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
 
Drain peaches and put in loaf pan; 
add almond extract, tapioca, ¼ cup sugar and toss to coat well. 
Mix together remaining sugar, butter, oatmeal, almonds and cinnamon until crumbly; top the peaches and bake for 30 minutes, lower heat to 325 degrees F and bake an additional 15 minutes. 

Variations: use Flour of choice instead of oatmeal; use vanilla, cherry, or black raspberry extract instead of almond….make your own family favorite.
