Irish Apple Cake

Ingredients:
3 cups sifted all purpose flour
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 tspn salt
3 egg yolks
1 cup butter, softened
1 lemon zest grated
2 cups applesauce
1/2 tspn ground cinnamon
1/4 tspn ground cloves
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350
Grease a 9x9 baking pan with cooking spray
In a medium size bowl mix flour, sugar and salt
Beat in egg yolks, butter and lemon zest until thoroughly mixed
In a small bowl mix applesauce, cinnamon and ground cloves
Press half the dough into the prepared baking pan
Spread applesauce mixture over the dough in a nice layer
Top with remaining dough
Bake for about 40 minutes or until the edges start to slightly brown or it will come out to dry
