Recipe for the day ~ All American Trifle
All American Trifle

Ingredients:
3 pounds fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
1/4 cup white sugar
1 quart heavy cream
1 (3.3 ounce) package instant white chocolate pudding mix
1 (6 ounce) container lemon yogurt
2 Tbspns coconut-flavored rum or to taste, divided (optional)
2 (16 ounce) prepared pound cakes, cubed
2 pints fresh blueberries, or as needed
Directions:
In a bowl, sprinkle the strawberries with sugar
Stir to distribute the sugar and set aside
Chill a large metal mixing bowl and beaters from an electric mixer
Pour the cream into the chilled mixing bowl
Add white chocolate pudding mix, lemon yogurt and 1 Tbspn coconut rum (optional)
Beat until fluffy with an electric mixer set on Medium speed
Spread layer of pound cake into the bottom of a glass 10x15 baking dish or a big glass bowl
Sprinkle the cubes with another tablespoon of coconut rum (optional)
Cover the pound cake with a layer of strawberries
Sprinkle blueberries over the strawberries
Spread a thick layer of whipped cream over the berries
Repeat the layers several times, ending with a thick layer of strawberries sprinkled with blueberries and reserving about 1 cup whipped cream
Top the trifle with dollops of whipped cream to serve
Refrigerate leftovers

Baked Beans

Ingredients:
1 (29 ounce) can pork and beans
1/2 cup chopped white onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup diced raw bacon
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
Directions:
Place all ingredients together in a slow cooker
Cook on LOW for about 4-6 hours
Stir often

Recipe for the day ~ S'mores Brownies
S'mores Brownies

Ingredients:
1 box (1 lb 2.4 ounce) Betty Crocker™ Original Supreme Premium brownie mix
***Prepare brownie mix according the directions on the box***
2 cups miniature marshmallows
4 graham crackers, broken into pieces
2 Hershey's® milk chocolate candy bars, broken into 1-inch squares
Directions:
Heat oven to 350
Make brownies as directed on the box
After removing pan from oven, set oven to broil
Immediately sprinkle marshmallows and graham crackers over warm brownies
Broil for about 4 to 5 inches from heat 30-60 seconds or until marshmallows are golden brown
(Watch carefully because the marshmallows and graham crackers will brown quickly)
Sprinkle with chocolate candy
To serve warm, cool for about 30 minutes
For brownies, cut into 4 rows by 4 rows

Use a plastic knife to cut brownies
Wrap up brownies individually in waxed paper or foil when you go on picnics or tailgating
